The New French Interior Design School of New York. 2017- Present
Bonjour!
I am FRED (Frédérique), I specialize in the design and construction of interiors, furniture, and decorative accessories for
all living environments and people.
From commercial, hospitality or corporate offices in New York, we dedicate our work since 2007 to unexpected harmony between practicality and aesthetics with sustainable matters.
With my team,
I work to make our client’s dreams come true. Totally committed to each project we undertake; we oversee the work from the design and drafting phase to its actual construction and finishing touches
and environmental concerns
.
With deep
connections to the art world, I’m always looking for those rare and exquisite pieces that will enhance my clients’
collections.
With my studio, FRED Interiors,
I listen as my client tells me what their dream is, how they want to live and feel in the space, and what will
make them happy.
Then, I build a strong visual story - one that I want us both to “fall in love with” - and we work together to bring it to life.
In all my work, and in the way I live my life, I look for juxtapositions and balance. Grace and simplicity. The graphic with the
soft-edged. Warmth and intensity.
The timeless and durable. I am able to work with each client through every stage of a project, from the creation of the concept
and vision, through construction, clean deconstruction and production, including project and budget management, to the final interior styling
and curation of the materials to be used with meticulous care.
NEW YORK
Working as a creative director for Par Excellence NYC, I built collaborations between NY high-end clients and Europe’s finest artisans and top 100’s architects. Then, in
2017, I opened my New York studio designing stylish residential interiors and furniture. These ventures led me to co-found
EMBARGO, a collection of furniture, decor, and lighting made with master craftsmen in Europe and Mexico.
EARLY YEARS
I grew up in France near the Belgian border surrounded by French Medieval art and the striking contemporary style of my
parents’ life. I went to boarding school in Lille, and then, searching for new challenges, I jumped across the Atlantic and
spent 2 years in California studying Architecture and Photography (with respected Henri Gilpin, a student of Ansel
Adams). My eyes were opened to the styles of Palm Springs LA houses, San Francisco mansions, and, ironically, the Bayeux
Tapestries.
Returning to France, I graduated from Paris’s prestigious ESAG Penninghen Académie Julian and then went on to work as
an interior designer at various Parisian studios before opening my own practice.
I fell in love with the contemporary artist, Guillaume Leblon, and built the first 3500 sqft Artist studio in 2009 in Paris suburb with green solutions for Roofing, Construction Materials, and Recycling Waste. We had 2 sons, and while my husband
pursued his art, my entrepreneurial spirit soared as I dreamed of taking our family and our work to New York. We have worked alongside artists, CEOs, families, and students to build projects that are just right for them. Products we design are in between function and delightful intentions.
‘‘Every project is unique in perfect harmony with its own special environment, as it is infused with my client’s desires and spirit.
This is what I love about what I do’’.
FRED
